Compass Update: Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention
This often-used proverb means “the primary driving force for most new inventions is a need,” according to Wikipedia.
From member comments we’ve received through our Compass surveys and our own transaction data, we know many of you have begun using digital banking services (the invention) that Arizona Federal offers to reduce “the need” to visit a branch.

Although many digital services have been around for years – like ATMs, online banking, mobile banking, mobile deposit – some members preferred to visit branch lobbies or drive-thrus to complete their banking transactions. The COVID-19 pandemic changed that, and we’ve been assisting many of you with our digital channels, ultimately saving you time and effort.
Coincidentally, around the same time the pandemic hit the area, we launched our new and improved online loan application, making it easier and more convenient to apply for vehicle loans, RV and boat loans, Visa credit cards, personal loans and home equity loans.
The new online loan process saves you time and gas money instead of making a trip to a branch to sign loan documents. Since offering this new online loan service, more than 600 members have completed the loan process digitally – in just three months!
Of course, our staff continues to welcome you in person at our branches or Business & Home Loan Centers. But we encourage you to make an appointment in advance before visiting. Due to social distancing measures in place, members without an appointment may need to wait outside if the branch is at capacity.
