Second Quarter 2024
Spring has definitely sprung, and I hope you have been enjoying our beautiful Arizona weather. Since the start of the year, our teams have been busy in service to you. As a member-owned financial cooperative, our members are at the core of everything we do, and I’m happy to share the latest news from your credit union.
Branch updates
Branches continue to be an important part of our service strategy. We know members (and potential members) like having a local branch nearby. Operating branches can be costly, and while it’s not possible to have a location on every corner, we remain thoughtful in our approach to balance member convenience with our not-for-profit business model.
New locations. As I announced last quarter, we are targeting the southeast Valley for our next branch location, but we continue to look throughout metro Phoenix for additional opportunities. I will keep you posted when we have more to announce.
Phoenix Biltmore & Colonnade branches. As early as May 31, we will be closing our Phoenix Biltmore Branch located at 2200 E. Camelback Road, Suite 108. Fortunately, our Colonnade Branch is located just ½ mile away. Our intention had been to consolidate these locations into a single, larger branch, but availability is constrained in this popular area. With the lease set to expire on the Biltmore location, it made most sense to close that branch as we continue to search for other options nearby. All employees at the Biltmore branch will be transferred to other locations.
Business Solutions Center
Small businesses continue to play a vital role in our local economies, and Arizona Financial remains committed to serving their banking needs. We know each small business has unique needs and may require additional support when opening and managing their accounts. With that in mind, we’re excited to announce the launch of our Business Solutions Center – a dedicated staff of business banking experts who are available to provide one-on-one support to our small business members. To reach a member of the Business Solutions Center, please call 602-683-1000 and select option 2.
Advocacy in action
In early March, a team of Arizona Financial employees visited Washington D.C. to participate in the Governmental Affairs Conference sponsored by America’s Credit Unions – a national trade association serving credit unions and their members.
During their time in D.C., our team and 6,000 other credit union advocates from across the country met with legislators to discuss important issues like preserving the credit union tax status, protecting overdraft services that provide members an alternative to predatory lending services like payday and auto title loans, and expanding opportunities to allow credit unions to serve areas with a low-income designation.
We will continue to ensure our voices are heard so we can maintain a vibrant and healthy credit union network to serve the financial needs of our members and the community. In the end, we only exist to serve you.
Sincerely,
Amy L. Hysell

Our Supervisory Committee is comprised of volunteers who are appointed by the Board of Directors to represent Arizona Financial's members. This committee serves as our checks and balances to keep us on track.
The committee is responsible for ensuring that members' funds and interests are protected at all times. To accomplish this goal, the Supervisory Committee performs several specific duties including: overseeing an annual independent audit of the credit union, verifying members' accounts, reviewing internal accounting systems and controls, and ensuring that all policies and procedural guidelines are followed.
The Supervisory Committee works closely with our Compliance and Review Services department, confirming the reliability of controls in place and the consistency of the credit union's protection processes. Along with participating in monthly board meetings and planning sessions, the Supervisory Committee continues to serve members on an individual basis.
